Car park C is available for free and located within walking distance of the ice rink (access via Arendahls Wiese). You can also use the nearby Zollverein parking deck (access via Arendahls Wiese).

With print-at-home, you simply print out your tickets yourself at the end of the ordering process. We will also send you an e-mail with the ticket to the e-mail address you provide if you want to print your ticket(s) later. Each ticket is securely identified by the barcode/QR code and automatically validated at the ticket counter.
All you need for the print-at-home process is any printer (black and white or colour). The ticket must be printed on A4 paper. Please note: Each ticket must be printed on a separate A4 sheet of paper and will only be accepted once. It is not possible to have your ticket printed out on site at the Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Alternatively, you can also simply show your ticket on your smartphone.

Please note that online tickets cannot be returned after purchase. The purchase of tickets of this type does not constitute a distance selling contract in accordance with § 312b BGB. See also the GTC.

 

The consumption of food and drinks is prohibited on the ice rink. Warm drinks and snacks are available in a Christmassy atmosphere around the ice rink at the stalls in the winter village.

The public toilets in the Mixing Plant can be used free of charge.

In the event of rain, storms, or very warm temperatures, the Zollverein Ice Rink must unfortunately remain closed. Please pay attention to the daily updated information on www.zollverein.de/Eisbahn and on Facebook.

Zollverein Ice Rink

Due to external circumstances (weather, corona virus), changes to the skating times and the maximum number of visitors on the ice rink as well as closures cannot be ruled out, please pay attention to daily updated information on www.zollverein.de/Eisbahn and on Facebook. In the event of a closure of the Zollverein Ice Rink, tickets remain valid for the 2024/2025 season up to and including 5 January 2025.

Ice Stock Sport

Ice stock sport takes place in all weathers.

By providing a ramp, we offer barrier-free access to the ice rink and enable wheelchair users to enjoy an inclusive ice skating experience. Please register by e-mail to eisbahn@zollverein.de or call +49 201 24681-777.

Your personal data you provide to us when ordering tickets via the online ticket shop will be used exclusively in connection with the processing of ticket sales or other services requested by you, taking into account the statutory provisions of the German Telemedia Act and the German Federal Data Protection Act. You can view the full privacy policy at the bottom of this page.

The ticket offices are open during the opening hours of the Zollverein Ice Rink. Please note: Ticket offices close 30 minutes before the end of the last ice session of the day.

Children of all ages can whizz across the ice. If they want to practise their first steps on the ice, little helper penguins are available for children to stabilise themselves.

Discounts apply for
- children up to 14 years, pupils
- students and trainees
- recipients of ALG I & II, social welfare, and benefits under the USG
- participants in the FSJ, FÖJ, and BFD programmes
- people with disabilities with a degree of disability of 50% or more (with designation ‘B’ in the official ID: one accompanying person is granted free admission)
- members of the Gesellschaft der Freunde und Förderer der Stiftung Zollverein e.V. and the Essener Theaterring.
Proof by photo ID is required on site.

Four-legged friends are welcome at the World Heritage Site and are allowed in the open areas, but not on the Zollverein Ice Rink and the cordoned-off areas.

Family tickets cost 23 euros (two adults and max. 3 children under 14 years).

Skates are available for hire in sizes 25 to 50. Hire costs €5 per pair (subject to availability, deposit required). The hire fee must be paid at the box office. Of course, you are also welcome to use your own skates on the ice rink. You can have your skates sharpened at the ice rink for €6 per pair (subject to change). We cannot guarantee that the desired size will always be available for hire on site, so we recommend that you bring your own skates.

The purchase of an online ticket does not include skate hire.

Storage compartments for shoes and bags are available but cannot be locked.

To use the Zollverein Ice Rink and take part in ice stock sport, your printed ticket or the ticket displayed on your smartphone will be scanned and validated. Each ticket is only accepted once.
Please present your online ticket at the ticket counter at the Coking Plant Information Point approx. 20 minutes before the start of the ice sport event (please note the meeting point on your ticket). If you are late, you are not entitled to enter the ice rink and ice stock sport area or to a refund of your ticket.
